How does machineryseller work?

MachinerySeller is a marketplace that brings buyers and sellers together in one easy to use site. As New Zealand’s most comprehensive marketplace for machinery, you have access to the most up-to-date information available. All listings that you find on machineryseller are placed by a private seller or identified dealer and managed online with a user login. Buyers and sellers deal directly – there are no commissions or hidden extras.

You can sign up as a Member and list up to 5 machines for free. Or sign up as a Dealer for $60/month and list an unlimited number of machines!

I have forgotten my password. What do I do?

Click 'Log in / Register' on the top right-hand corner of any page.

Enter your email address in the 'Request New Password' section to reset it.

I have forgotten my username. What do I do?

Your username is the email address that you signed up with.

Check for an email sent to you from info@machineryseller.co.nz - this email will contain your username.

Alternatively, you can drop us an email at info@machineryseller.co.nz and we will reply with your username.

How do I update email addresses and other contact details?

Click 'Log in / Register' on the top right hand corner of any page.

Enter your username and password and login.

Click 'Edit My Profile' on your dashboard. Make the necessary change and click 'Save'.

How do I sign up as a Private Seller?

What sort of suspicious behaviour should I look out for?

There are several types of scams that exist, many of which are email based. You should exercise extreme caution, especially with people who:

  1. Are based overseas
  2. Request payment via instant cash transfer methods
  3. Request that you send goods before you receive payment
  4. Claim to have a friend/agent who can pay you an amount greater than the value of your goods, then ask you to send them the difference
Who can buy machinery through machineryseller?

Whether in New Zealand or overseas, anyone can purchase machinery through machineryseller.

How do I contact the seller?

Contact details made available by the seller can be viewed on the right-hand side of any listing.

You will be able to contact the seller directly.

Who can sell machinery through machineryseller?

Only New Zealand dealers and private sellers can list machinery on machineryseller.

Listed machinery must be available in New Zealand.

How much does it cost to sell machinery on machineryseller?

If you sign up as a Member you can list up to 5 machines for free.

If you sign up as a Dealer for a $60/month subscription you can list an unlimited number of machines!

We DO NOT take commision on any sales.

What about receipts for Private Sellers?

An invoice will be emailed to you as soon as you submit and pay for your listing.

How long is my listing visible on the website?

Your listings will remain on machineryseller for 6 months, after which you can opt to simply relist, or delete.

And please remember to delete your listing once your machine is sold.

Removing listings

Machines which have sold should be removed from machineryseller within 48 hours.

This ensures the marketplace remains current and provides the best results for buyers and sellers.

Editing or removing a machine

Click 'Log in / Register' on the top right hand corner of any page.

Enter your username and password and login.

Click the 'Listings' tab on your dashboard. All machines listed will be displayed.

You can choose to view, edit or delete your listing.

How do I relist?

Click 'Log in / Register' on the top right hand corner of any page.

Enter your username and password and login.

Click the 'Listings' tab on your dashboard.

Locate your expired or removed listing.

Click the relist button and follow the steps.

Uploading photos

First, download your photo to your computer. Photos are uploaded to your listing from your computer so you need to download images from your camera or scan them in.

Second, save photos in either .gif or .jpg format, not exceeding 2MB in size. Most computers have a photo viewer with a re-sizing function, or use Picasa: it's online, simple and free.

Finally, you will be given the option to upload photos during the Sell process.

Photos will be automatically deleted if:
A photo is uploaded and not used in a listing for three weeks
OR
A photo has been used in a listing which has closed and the photo has remained unused for 45 days

Why was my listing removed?

Listings may be removed if they breach machineryseller policy.

Continued breaches of machineryseller policy may result in suspension of a seller's profile.

Listings are also automatically removed after 12 months or at the end of the first 12 months if not renewed by the lister. 

An email advising the reason for the removal will be issued.
