ICAM CNC - PHD 150 Flatbed router
1800 X x 3200 Y mm with a Z of 200mm
The CNC was built in 2005, originally set up to do Prehung Doors but we changed it over to a flat bed router when we bought it, replacing with a Phenolic Resin Bed so it would suit our needs better. This was used primarily as a back up - when we sent our main CNC overseas to get repaired.
Recently though we only use it for a few hours each day - to pre drill some aluminium profiles and some routing (mainly Compact Laminate)
We are getting a brand new CNC so this is no longer required
This has been a great CNC for us however it does come with some issues
For some reason every time it powers on in cold mornings the x and y axis will move, we are not sure why, and as this was only a back up CNC we managed it by either leaving it powered up overnight or if we turned it off we would blast it with one of our diesel heaters to warm it up and it would always run fine. We did speak to another company with a similar CNC and they had the same issue.
The Tool changer works most of the time but could use some new tool lifers and also some new Grippers - these get worn over time and we have just had these made locally
